Following UK Government's announcement confirming changes to the UK Border, we would like to remind you that from 30 April 2024:
Documentary and risk-based identity and physical checks will be introduced for medium-risk animal products, plants, plant products and high-risk food (and feed) of non-animal origin from the EU.
What your drivers need to do
New information leaflets produced by UK Government (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) will be distributed to the drivers on our French terminal to ensure that they are aware of these changes. These are available in 5 languages.
Common User Charge (CUC)
The Common User Charge (CUC), which will apply to eligible imports into the UK via the Port of Dover and Eurotunnel, will be introduced. The charge will apply to the majority of goods eligible for sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) checks at a government-operated border control post (BCP) in England, regardless of whether they are selected for inspection.
