One of Freightlink Motorsport's newest clients will be racing Martin Brundle’s Classic F3 from the famous 1983 season at the Historic Grand Prix in Zandvoort, Netherlands next month.
Brundle vs Senna
The F3 car rose to fame because of the renowned 1983 Vandervell British F3 Championship where Brundle went toe-to-toe in the Championship title battle with the legendary Ayrton Senna. In the 20 races that season, only once had neither Brundle nor Senna won the race. The season also had several notable race drivers for the future, including future Le Mans winner Davy Jones.
Following the dominance of the two in the Formula 3 Championship in 1983, both drivers made the step up into Formula One in 1984.
6th Historic Grand Prix in Zandvoort
The 6th Historic Grand Prix in Zandvoort takes place between the 1st - 3rd September and features not only Martin Bundle’s 1983 Formula 3 car in the ‘Historic F3 1000cc European Trophy’ but another thirty to forty cars are also expected to be on the start line. Over the course of the weekend 80+ years of international motorsport will be on display and celebrated with several races and demonstrations.
