One of the great things about the Irish Sea is that there are no shortage of ferry routes to take you to where you want to go on the east coast of Ireland & Northern Ireland.

One of our most popular routes for haulage and logistics companies alike is the Cairnryan to Larne route, operated by P&O Ferries.

With up to seven crossings each way every day and taking only 105 minutes per crossing, the P&O vessels MV European Causeway and MV European Highlander provide fantastic links to Northern Ireland, Scotland and Northern England.

Cairnryan

Located 5 miles north of Stranraer, the port of Cairnryan is an excellent location for any business that operates in Scotland or the North of England. The modern port dates from the Second World War when it was used to build the floating Mulberry Harbours which were used on the Normandy beaches on D-Day. Today, the P&O terminal at the port provides facilities including a snack bar and shop.

Larne

Just 30 minutes from Belfast, the port of Larne is ideally located for access to Northern Ireland and beyond. Established in the 19th Century and utilised as a naval port for anti-submarine activities during the Second World War, Larne now handles over 300,000 freight units each year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Facilities at the port include 'The Coffee Shop' cafe serving freshly prepared hot and cold meals, Bookstall Newsagents, ATM, showers and drivers' lounge.

The Ships

The MV European Causeway and MV European Highlander together provide space for over 200 freight vehicles with facilities including a dedicated drivers' lounge, showers, comfortable seating areas, refurbished restaurants and shops.
